Moodle Classroom Outage

On occasion our classroom (hosted by Moodle) will have computing problems.

We're aware of the following Moodle occurrences:

  • 2018 April 12 (resolved) -  Client sites became unavailable due to improper manual shut down of the server; power was restored to the server and the team verified service was returned to sites.  The original issue was access to multiple Moodlerooms sites and storage became unavailable for our sites in VA2.  The issue began at approximately 12:23 PM ET.  All production sites returned to expected performance levels at approximately 1:39 PM ET.  Status after issue resolution:  No Moodlerooms production sites are currently affected.   Keywords:  outage, trouble signing in, cfg, fatal error, error code, cfg, data route, course, class, classroom

Video Won't Play

The Situation
You've signed-in to our online classroom to take a course. You've launched a video, and it won't play.

There are many possibilities for why videos won't play. We've collected the most common causes with suggested solutions. In some cases, you might need to ask for assistance from your corporate IT department.

Note:
This article will address computers running Microsoft Windows.

Background
We explain the possibilities by categorizing them into 3 large buckets:
  • The software being used
  • The corporate enterprise IT system & configuration
  • The computer being used
Your Software
Your Corporate IT System
  • Try this easy test
    • Take our course on your home personal computer. If you're successful, it suggests that the corporate hardware/software systems are the culprit.
  • White listing
    • Outside entities can be blocked from a corporate system. Approved entities might appear on a company's "white list." Ask your IT department if this is the case, and how our domain and/or IP address can be added, in order for the video feed to get through.
  • Virus scanning & content filtering
    • Ask your IT department if outside video content is being scanned/filtered, and preventing the videos from playing.
Your Computer
  • Reboot your computer
    • As you are opening and closing programs, your computer may or may not relinquish system resources used by these programs which can result in quirky behavior, including locking up, because the computer is not fully utilizing all of its available resources.
  • Try using another computer.
  • Graphics hardware and associated display drivers

On February 20, 2015, the California Board of Pharmacy announced that third-party logistics providers (3PLs) must obtain a third-party logistics provider license, as well as designate a responsible manager, and secure licensure of specialized employees who will serve as designated representatives–3PLs (DR-3PL).

DR-3PL applicants must provide proof of DR-3PL training. SkillsPlus Intl Inc. is now offering a Designated Representative-3PL training course.

Enrollment Key - Don't Use The Confirmation Number

Situation:
I'm trying to enter the course that I've registered for. I'm prompted for an enrollment key. I've entered the confirmation number, and can't get into the course classroom to take the class.

Solution:
After you register and pay for a course (in the CVENT payment system), you're sent an email containing instructions and a(n):
  • Enrollment Key - use this when trying to enter the course classroom for the first time. You'll be prompted for the Enrolment Key.
  • Confirmation Number - this is a transaction reference number associated with your payment and registration through the CVENT payment system. This is not the enrollment key.
